First, can every autonomous action be traced to a named human decision owner, the person who approved the action, or the governing logic? If audit trails only credit “the system,” accountability has already failed.
Second, how precise is the intervention? Healthy systems pause through contextual handoffs, not emergency overrides. A rising ratio of proactive handoffs to reactive kills signals that the organization understands where judgment matters before damage occurs.
Third, how deeply is execution grounded in enterprise semantics rather than raw inference? As models commoditize, advantage shifts to whether proprietary context is shaping outcomes, or merely decorating them.
Fourth, how fast can intent change? Logic latency, the time required to propagate a strategic or policy change across all active systems, is a direct measure of organizational adaptability. If policy updates take weeks, sovereignty already belongs to the system, not leadership.
